A really interesting article that highlights how much factory farming effects our climate change. I find it hypocritical when environmentalists push reducing your carbon print, yet actively consume meat.
“In particular, the report concluded that livestock production accounts for 18%, or one-fifth, of global emissions. This figure is higher than all transportation sources combined…Carnegie Melon released a study in spring 2008 indicating that eliminating red meat and dairy just one day a week from one’s diet did more to lower his or her carbon footprint than eating local everyday of the week.”
So vegetarianism is good for your health, animals, and the environment. I cannot see a reason to not eliminate meat from your diet at LEAST one day a week.

This is big news!!!! Should this have been approved, Monsanto would have gotten its foot in the door to push other GM crops on India to the detriment of its biodiversity and the livelihood of farmers. Due to the resistance of farmers, consumers, environmentalists and the protests against it there is at least a tentative victory on this being stopped.
Thank you India!
Al Gore mentions factory farming on SNL.
I almost feel….vindicated. If he hadn’t said anything about agriculture, I was never going to listen to another word he said.
